Each year, an estimated 800,000 women and children
are trafficked from over 120 countries for the purposes
of sexual exploitation. Action to End Exploitation will
work in any country that traffics or receives children
for the purposes of sexual servitude, forced labour
or other unscrupulous practices.
As the most beneficial
non-governmental activities to combat sexual are conducted
at the grass root level, considerable local expertise and co-operation is required for programs
to operate effectively and efficiently. Our project
developers invest time and energy into
working with local residents and NGOs to create projects
that enhance local resources and strengthen the overall
development of the region.
Our current work is focused on Vietnam and Cambodia due to the recognition that this part of Asia represents
the epicenter of the human trafficking phenomenon. Our
interest is directed at promoting economic and social
development throughout the border regions between southern
Vietnam and Cambodia, which is a well known corridor
for smuggling underage Vietnamese children into brothels in Phnom
Penh, Cambodia.
As we expand our membership base and peer support within
other regions, we will expand our programs to new regions.
