Srey Luk is a charming young lady.   Far from your typical adolescent, Srey Luk is one of the most polite and appreciative young women you could ever meet.  Shy at times, it can be difficult to penetrate her thoughts.  However, once the reserved façade is overcome, you will discover a truly unfound jewel.

Raised from an early age by her aging father, Srey Luk has had to mature faster than most children.  Never knowing financial security, life at home has often been stressful.  She constantly feels sorry for her father, who is the sole wage earner of the household.  He is forced to work long hours for very little very little money in order to buy her life’s basic necessities.  Yet despite his daily struggles, education for his daughter has been a priority.  Unlike many families in their neighborhood, he has recognized the long-term value of education, and has worked hard to provide the opportunities for Srey Luk.  Unfortunately, school fees became too high as Srey Luk finished grade 3, and he was forced to choose between schooling his daughter or feeding her. 

Srey Luk is currently attending our free academic bridge program which will increase her academic abilities to the point that she will be able to attend school comfortably and with confidence with peers of her own age.   She has proven herself to be one of our best pupils, and will be ready to resume her studies with peers of her own age within the next four months.
